Bewitched Herds Boys - Weltenbrand

Two boys tended cattle in the Triesner upper village

An old woman passed and greeted them but the boys just shouted

You old witch you and threw rocks after her

The woman turned around and yelled down to them

I will get you on your heels

And as if on command all the cows lifted their tails and raced towards the Rhein

The boys were forced to follow as if pulled by invisible ropes

And everything happend so fast that they tumbled many times

Dead tired and with lots of bruises they reached their cattle at the Rhein and

wanted to drive them back but of no avail all the hitting was useless

The two fell asleep in the grass

When the bells in the morning played Ave Maria the cows walked back home

The farmer saw them coming and discovered the welts

He searched for the boys finally found them full of cuts and bruises and they

told him what happened here…

Dos niños cuidaban el ganado en el pueblo alto de Triesner

Pasó una anciana y los saludó pero los chicos solo gritaron

Tu vieja bruja tu y tiraste piedras tras ella

La mujer se dio la vuelta y les gritó

Te pondré sobre tus talones

Y como si hubieran recibido una orden, todas las vacas levantaron la cola y corrieron hacia el Rhein.

Los chicos se vieron obligados a seguir como si fueran tirados por cuerdas invisibles.

Y todo sucedió tan rápido que cayeron muchas veces

Muertos de cansancio y con muchos moretones llegaron a su ganado en el Rhein y

quería hacerlos retroceder pero fue en vano todos los golpes fueron inútiles

Los dos se durmieron en la hierba.

Cuando las campanas de la mañana tocaban el Ave María, las vacas caminaban de vuelta a casa

El granjero los vio venir y descubrió las ronchas.

Buscó a los niños finalmente los encontró llenos de cortes y moretones y ellos

le conté lo que pasó aquí…
