Psalm 1 - The Corner Room

1 Blessed is the man

who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners,

nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,

and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree

planted by streams of water

that yields its fruit in its season,

and its leaf does not wither.

In all that he does, he prospers.

4 The wicked are not so,

but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked will perish.

1 Bienaventurado el hombre

el que no anda en consejo de malos,

ni se interpone en el camino de los pecadores,

ni se sienta en la silla de los escarnecedores;

2 pero su delicia está en la ley del Señor,

y en su ley medita día y noche.

3 Es como un árbol

plantado junto a corrientes de agua

que da su fruto en su tiempo,

y su hoja no se marchita.

En todo lo que el hace, el prospera.

4 Los malvados no son así,

sino que son como paja que arrebata el viento.

(4 Los impíos no son así,

sino que sois como tamo que arrebata el viento.)

5 Por tanto, los impíos no se levantarán en el juicio,

ni pecadores en la congregación de los justos;

6 porque el Señor conoce el camino de los justos,

mas el camino de los impíos perecerá.
