As the Sun sets and reveals the night

I tried to find the words but couldn’t quite

As you held your breath the silence grew

In the darkest black and the deepest blue

I lead you up the stairs into the bedroom

Where a poet died many years ago

And a vision of the life then flashed before me

That I could not hold but don’t want to let go

Dying stars crown old street lights
