We Are Cursed - Nile

The wretched and the desperate

Scavenge amongst the refuse

Piled waist deep in the streets

Of our ancient cities

The starving compete with rats over every scrap

Of ill sustenance to be found

Rotting amongst the dead and diseased

Maggot infested, disowned bodies of men and animals

The waters we drink

Are as sewage filth spreading sickness

The disinherited and the poor

Profane our temples

With the stench of their disease and death

Our existence has become loathsome

The gods have forsaken us

We have been cursed

All is covered in dust and soot

Ashes from fires burning

The unwholesome corpses of the afflicted

Our monuments have fallen to ruin

The images of the gods buried in sand

Our temples lay broken and prostrate in neglect

The grandeur of the Pharaohs is subverted

Our empire fades before our eyes

The black earth lays barren and desolate

I look upon the crumbling pyramids and despair

We are cursed

Scavenge entre la basura

Apilados hasta la cintura en las calles

De nuestras antiguas ciudades

Los hambrientos compiten con las ratas por cada chatarra

De mal sustento que se encuentra

Pudriéndose entre los muertos y enfermos

Cuerpos de hombres y animales infestados de gusanos

Las aguas que bebemos

son como la suciedad de las aguas residuales que propagan la enfermedad

Los desheredados y los pobres

Profana nuestros templos

Con el hedor de su enfermedad y muerte

Nuestra existencia se ha vuelto repugnante

Los dioses nos han abandonado

hemos sido maldecidos

Todo está cubierto de polvo y hollín.

Cenizas de incendios que arden

Los cadáveres malsanos de los afligidos

Nuestros monumentos han caído en ruinas

Las imágenes de los dioses enterrados en la arena

Nuestros templos yacían rotos y postrados en abandono

La grandeza de los faraones se subvierte

Nuestro imperio se desvanece ante nuestros ojos

La tierra negra yace estéril y desolada

Veo las pirámides desmoronándose y me desespero
