Sometimes I have to ask myself,

How it is that we survive,

We know trains, boats, planes and cars

Will sometimes fail,

And if one don’t get you then the other one will,

And if the other don’t get you then another one surely will.

Inside, your heart must keep on going,

And so must all the other parts too.

Illnesses and poisons lie in wait,

And if one don’t get you the other one will,

I’m not just talking 'bout the mountain climbers,

Jungle explorers or even hang gliders,

I’m not just talking about test pilots,

Steeplejacks, stuntmen or racing drivers.

Half the people in the world behave

Like they’d like to see the other half dead,

With guns and knives or perhaps just unconcern,

And if one don’t get you the other one will,

And if the other don’t get you then another one surely will.

I’m not just talkin' about the mountain climbers.

Jungle explorers or even hang gliders.

I’m not just talkin' about testpilots.

Steeplejacks, stuntmen, or racing drivers.

I’m not just talkin' about lion tamers.

Human cannonballs or secret agents.

I’m not just talkin' about skydivers.

Trapeze artists or rodeo drivers.

I’m not just talking 'bout bounty hunters.

Astranouts, boxers, or billy bunters…

A veces tengo que preguntarme,

como es que sobrevivimos,

Conocemos trenes, barcos, aviones y coches.

A veces fallará,

Y si uno no te atrapa, entonces el otro lo hará,

Y si el otro no te atrapa, seguramente otro lo hará.

Por dentro, tu corazón debe seguir adelante,

Y también deben hacerlo todas las demás partes.

Enfermedades y venenos acechan,

Y si uno no te atrapa, el otro lo hará,

Y si el otro no te atrapa, seguramente otro lo hará.

No estoy hablando solo de los alpinistas,

Exploradores de la jungla o incluso alas delta,

No estoy hablando solo de pilotos de prueba,

Steeplejacks, especialistas o pilotos de carreras.

La mitad de las personas en el mundo se comportan

Como si quisieran ver a la otra mitad muerta,

Con pistolas y cuchillos o tal vez solo despreocupación,

Y si uno no te atrapa, el otro lo hará,

Y si el otro no te atrapa, seguramente otro lo hará.

No estoy hablando solo de los alpinistas.

Exploradores de la jungla o incluso alas delta.

No estoy hablando solo de pilotos de prueba.

Steeplejacks, especialistas o pilotos de carreras.

No estoy hablando solo de domadores de leones.

Balas de cañón humanas o agentes secretos.

No estoy hablando solo de paracaidistas.

Trapecistas o conductores de rodeo.

No estoy hablando solo de cazarrecompensas.
