Haunted House - John Anderson

I just moved in my new house today

Moving was hard but I got squared away

Bells started ringing and chains rattled loud

I knew I’d done moved in a haunted house

Still I made up my mind to stay

And nothing was gonna drive me away

Till I seen something that gave me the creeps

It had a one big eye and two big feet

I stood right still and I did the freeze

And it did stroll right up to me

Made a noise with his feet that sounded like a drum

Said, «Don't you be here when morning comes»

Say if I be here when morning comes

I’ll be right here and I ain’t gonna run

'Cause I bought this house and you know I’m boss

And ain’t no haunt gonna run me off

In the kitchen the stove was a blazing hot

The coffee was a boiling in the old pot

Oh the grease had melted in my pan

I had a hunk of meat in my hand

He ate the raw meat right from my hand

Then he drank all the grease from the frying pan

Said to me, «Boy, you better run

And don’t you be here when morning comes»

Say if I be here when morning comes

I’ll be right here and I ain’t gonna run

'Cause I bought this house now you know I’m boss

And ain’t no haunt like you’s gonna run me off

Acabo de mudarme a mi nueva casa hoy

Mudarme fue difícil pero me cuadré

Sabía que me había mudado a una casa embrujada

Y no hay ninguna guarida que me vaya a ahuyentar

En la cocina la estufa estaba muy caliente

El café estaba hirviendo en la olla vieja

Oh, la grasa se había derretido en mi sartén

tenía un trozo de carne en la mano

Comió la carne cruda directamente de mi mano.

Luego bebió toda la grasa de la sartén.

Me dijo: «Chico, será mejor que corras

Y no estés aquí cuando llegue la mañana»

Estaré justo aquí y no voy a correr

Porque compré esta casa ahora sabes que soy el jefe

Y no hay ningún lugar como si me fueras a correr
