Second Sight - Howling Sycamore

Waves paint and flood my days

Resembling that cyclic motion I can’t run from

Heading towards me

The dreadnaught wheel is taking speed

Its noise is a long nail through my ears

The bedlam that thoughts make when obsession takes over

Breathing suddenly feels like crawling in the mud

I cannot help but stare at the dark veil of time passing by

Retracing my steps of the bitter taste of yarrow

But holding its leaf against the eye will give a second sight

The minds opens to ancient landscapes I recognize

Peeking down from the cliff

I salute golden eagle flying below

May it bring the message I’m waiting for

Silence but not isolation

Silence as a humming presence

Connecting souls as Redwood roots

Lost teachings are what nightmares are made of

I seek for them in the darkest corners of my being

I’ll forge them in fire like blades

I’ll press them on my skin

I’ll write my new name with those marks

Pero sostener su hoja contra el ojo le dará una segunda vista.

La mente se abre a paisajes antiguos que reconozco

Mirando hacia abajo desde el acantilado

Saludo al águila real que vuela abajo

Que traiga el mensaje que estoy esperando

Silencio pero no aislamiento

El silencio como presencia zumbante

Conectando almas como raíces de Redwood

Las enseñanzas perdidas son de lo que están hechas las pesadillas

Los busco en los rincones más oscuros de mi ser

Los forjaré en fuego como cuchillas

Los presionaré en mi piel

Escribiré mi nuevo nombre con esas marcas.
