Breath makes smoke

Air that smells like snow

Won’t you ever come?

As sun sets, trees make silhouettes

Then disappear from view

Night sounds heard

Between traffic bursts

Are growing louder now

I stare through the night for familiar headlights

But they never come

And it illustrates for me how very far I’ve come

It’s not just my body I am trying to keep warm

And the stoplights turn

Just about three hundred times

And headlights shine on me

But none belong to you

Aire que huele a nieve

Cuando se pone el sol, los árboles forman siluetas

Luego desaparece de la vista

Se escuchan sonidos nocturnos

Entre ráfagas de tráfico

Están creciendo más fuerte ahora

Miro a través de la noche en busca de faros familiares

Pero nunca vienen

Y me ilustra lo lejos que he llegado

No es solo mi cuerpo lo que estoy tratando de mantener caliente

Y los semáforos giran

Sólo unas trescientas veces

Y los faros brillan sobre mí

Pero ninguno te pertenece
