Emerald Earth - Dødsengel

Forever did I lie, dreaming

Forever did I walk, slumbering

A restless sleep, a waking dream

A world of grey and unrest

My heart rebelled against this dull horror

Yet my mind could conceive of nothing else

These eyes beheld nothing but grey dust

And my tongue could taste nothing but ashes

Yet from this nothing arose a lotus

Its petals golden and blue through the anguish which revealed an emerald earth

In this lies a great mystery

None was the initiator and nought was the offering

Nothingness revealed a hidden fire

Fresh eyes to the blind

None awoke the dreamer and there was no dream

Nothing kissed my brow and raised my eyes

Nothing took me by the hand and led me

We entered the portal

We passed through the watchtowers

We left the world of grey marionettes and shells

And the world gladdened into green at her coming

And i beheld the emerald earth

Por siempre mentí, soñando

Siempre caminé, adormecido

Un sueño inquieto, un sueño despierto

Un mundo de grises y disturbios

Mi corazón se rebeló contra este horror sordo

Sin embargo, mi mente no podía concebir nada más

Estos ojos no contemplaron nada más que polvo gris

Y mi lengua no podía saborear nada más que cenizas

Sin embargo, de esta nada surgió un loto

Sus pétalos dorados y azules por la angustia que revelaba una tierra esmeralda

En esto yace un gran misterio

Ninguno fue el iniciador y nada fue la ofrenda.

La nada reveló un fuego oculto

Ojos frescos para los ciegos

Ninguno despertó al soñador y no hubo sueño

Nada besó mi frente y levantó mis ojos

Nada me tomó de la mano y me llevó

Entramos al portal

Pasamos por las torres de vigilancia

Dejamos el mundo de marionetas grises y conchas

Y el mundo se alegró en verde a su llegada

Y contemplé la tierra esmeralda
