To the World - Woebegone

Remember how we swore we’d never let go of our lives?

We’d never let the beauty of this world fade away into the night

This is a call to every dormant soul that’s trapped

Into a body that keeps it from the light

Remember how we fought against all odds for a better day?

And how slowly we sold ourselves out, and put our happiness away

How we let go every passion, kicked every feeling out the door

And now we’ve seen it all unravel, we’re left wondering «what for?»

Start from this thought, speaking of God, what if there’s no one out there?

What if it just watches careless as you sing your chants of despair?

How do you sleep at night, wondering if you are wasting the gift of this life

Wonder if it’s all that you have, all around nobody cares, all around nobody

dares

I feel that this world could be a much better place

If we just allowed ourselves to love, to laugh, to cry, to look into each

other’s eyes and and listen to each other’s words and to

Exist into each other’s thoughts

And stay together in the cold of the night

Because in the end all we have is one other, and no matter how strong, or rich,

we’re all heading to the same place

We’re all given the same space, and we can all enjoy it while we can,

or we can fight endless wars for things we will never own

This is a call to you my friends

It doesn’t have to be like this

And we can change the world

And this is what I’m fighting for

This is a life worth fighting for

¿Cómo duermes por la noche, preguntándote si estás desperdiciando el regalo de esta vida?

Me pregunto si es todo lo que tienes, a nadie le importa, a nadie

se atreve

Siento que este mundo podría ser un lugar mucho mejor

Si nos permitiéramos amar, reír, llorar, mirarnos a cada uno

los ojos del otro y escuchar las palabras del otro y

Existir en los pensamientos del otro

Y permanecer juntos en el frío de la noche

Porque al final todo lo que tenemos es uno al otro, y no importa cuán fuerte o rico,

todos nos dirigimos al mismo lugar

A todos se nos da el mismo espacio, y todos podemos disfrutarlo mientras podamos,

o podemos pelear guerras interminables por cosas que nunca poseeremos
