Self Freshness - Whitewoods

Good afternoon.

Provost Houlihan, thank you for that warm introduction.

Chairman Tully, members of the Board of Trustees, President Dugan,

distinguished guests, members of the administration, faculty and staff,

and fellow graduates.

I’m honored to be here today to represent the winter

class of 2016

So first off, congratulations!

Today, we flip the page and mark an end to another chapter of

Our story.

As I look out into the crowd before me, I sense a wave of emotions

from everyone present.

For family and friends, the sense of pride you have in

your graduate’s accomplishments is unmeasurable.

For faculty, another class you

have successfully educated and mentored throughout our time

Yet nothing — nothing — can top the feelings that we graduates have right now

at this moment.

We made it here in one piece.

We survived all those exams,

lectures and research papers that we once thought would never finish

It all started a couple years back when we opened our acceptance letters and

decided to attend St. Francis College.

The small college of big dreams.

The college that has granted all of us amazing opportunities and opened doors

for us in numerous ways

St. Francis, a liberal arts college, has given us the tools we need to go

forward and succeed.

St. Francis not only prepared all of us students to pass

our GMATS, GREs, CPAs, or any other obstacle we will face after this day,

but gave us confidence to touch the lives of others and help those when needed

The qualities we have gained throughout our years here have given us an

advantage after we leave this campus.

We are part of a very small percentage of

college graduates who have been exposed to more than just our textbooks.

Molded into well-rounded and confident individuals we are ready to start the

next page of the new chapter of our story

I’ve been working on two films simultaneously, and… so… uh…

The Ultimation is giving me a lot of… breathing room from… A Midsummer

Night’s, going from, uh, black and white to color film.

And, um…

y-y'know, a couple of the page reads, we read back and forth, and that-that's

healthy.

Um, keep a certain freshness… So…

will return!

and, y’know, the legend has it that those… young filmmakers who grew up in

the age of television have been trapped into… these technological advances —

uh, it’s not something that interests me, personally, I think it’s wonderful —

Entonces, antes que nada, ¡felicidades!

Hoy, damos la vuelta a la página y marcamos el final de otro capítulo de

Nuestra historia.

Mientras miro a la multitud frente a mí, siento una ola de emociones

de todos los presentes.

Para familiares y amigos, el sentido de orgullo que tiene en

los logros de su graduado son inconmensurables.

Para la facultad, otra clase que

han educado y asesorado con éxito a lo largo de nuestro tiempo

Sobrevivimos a todos esos exámenes,

conferencias y trabajos de investigación que alguna vez pensamos que nunca terminarían

Todo comenzó hace un par de años cuando abrimos nuestras cartas de aceptación y

decidió asistir a St. Francis College.

El pequeño colegio de los grandes sueños.

La universidad que nos ha brindado a todos oportunidades increíbles y ha abierto puertas

para nosotros de muchas maneras

St. Francis, una universidad de artes liberales, nos ha dado las herramientas que necesitamos para ir

adelante y triunfar.

San Francisco no solo nos preparó a todos los estudiantes para pasar

nuestros GMATS, GRE, CPA o cualquier otro obstáculo al que nos enfrentemos después de este día,

pero nos dio confianza para influir en la vida de los demás y ayudarlos cuando sea necesario

Las cualidades que hemos adquirido a lo largo de nuestros años aquí nos han dado una

ventaja después de que dejemos este campus.

Somos parte de un porcentaje muy pequeño de

graduados universitarios que han estado expuestos a más que solo nuestros libros de texto.

Moldeados en personas completas y seguras, estamos listos para comenzar el
