Soteriology - White Willow

In scarlet fields where fallen angels sleep:

a ground upon which mortals dare not tread,

where moves the image of the fallen man

who holds the star within his hand

beneath the shadow of a darkened sun:

intoxicated by the wine of life

we slumber through our days of emptiness

and blindness and forgetfulness.

Within the fire of awakening:

there lies the core of my triumphant self.

a spark ignites a freedom greater than all life,

my mystery profound.

Upon the altar where the chalice stands:

where coils the serpent round its offering

of knowing and of sight, the power to transcend

beyond the tyrant’s throne.

En campos escarlata donde duermen los ángeles caídos:

un suelo que los mortales no se atreven a pisar,

donde se mueve la imagen del hombre caído

quien tiene la estrella en su mano

bajo la sombra de un sol oscurecido:

embriagados por el vino de la vida

dormimos a través de nuestros días de vacío

y la ceguera y el olvido.

Dentro del fuego del despertar:

ahí yace el núcleo de mi yo triunfante.

una chispa enciende una libertad mayor que toda vida,

mi misterio profundo.

Sobre el altar donde está el cáliz:

donde la serpiente se enrosca alrededor de su ofrenda

del saber y de la vista, el poder de trascender

más allá del trono del tirano.
