I had a dream, which was not all a dream

The bright sun was extinguished, and the stars

Did wander darkling in the eternal space

Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth

Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air

Morn came and went and came, and brought no day

And men forgot their passions in the dread

Of this their desolation

Desolation

And all hearts

Were chilled into a selfish prayer for light

The crash and all was black

No love was left

All earth was but one thought and that was death

Vagó oscuro en el espacio eterno

Sin rayos y sin caminos, y la tierra helada

Ciego y ennegrecido en el aire sin luna

La mañana vino y se fue y vino, y no trajo día

Y los hombres olvidaron sus pasiones en el pavor

De esta su desolación

Soledad

y todos los corazones

Se enfriaron en una oración egoísta por la luz

El choque y todo era negro

No quedó amor

Toda la tierra era un solo pensamiento y ese era la muerte
