Once upon a time not long ago

When people wore pajamas and lived life slow

Lived a little boy he was misled

By another little boy and this is what he said:

«Me and you tonight are gonna make some cash

Robbin’old folks and makin’the dash.»

They did the job, money came with ease

But one couldn’t stop, it’s like he had a disease

He robbed another and another a sister and a brother

Tried to rob a man who was a duty undercover

The cop grabbed his arm, he started acting erratic

He said «Look kid, no need for static»

Punched him in his belly and he gave him a slap

But little did he know the little boy was strapped

The kid pulled out the gun, he said «Why'd ya hit me?»

The gun was hang right for the cop’s kidney

The cop got scared, the kid, he starts to figure

«I'll do years if I pull this trigger»

So he cold dashed and ran around the block

Radios it to another lady cop

He ran by a tree, there he saw the sister

A shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her

And due to expectations

He decided he’d head for the roadway stations

She was coming and he made a left

He was runnin’top speed till he was out of breath

He knocked an old man down and swore he killed him

Then he made his move to an abandoned building

He ran up the stairs up to the top floor

And guess who he saw?

Dave the dope fiend shootin’dope

Who don’t know the meaning of water nor soap

He said «Hurry, hurry up and run!»

The dope fiend brought back a spanking shotgun

He went outside but there was cops all over

He dipped into a car, a stolen Nova

He raced up the block doing 83

Crashed into a tree near a university

Escaped alive though the car was battered

Rat-a-tat-tatted and all the cops scattered

Ran out of bullets but still he had static

Grabbed a pregnant lady, got out the automatic

Pointed at her head and he said

«Cops back off or the honey here’s dead»

Deep in his heart he knew he was wrong

He let the lady go and he starts to run on Sirens sounded, he seemed astounded

Before long the little boy was surrounded

He dropped the gun, so went the glory

And this is the way I have to end my story

He was only seventeen, in a madman’s dream

The cops shot the kid, I still hear him scream

This ain’t funny so don’t ya dare laugh

Just another storye 'bout the wrong path

Straight and narrow while your soul gets cash

Érase una vez no hace mucho

Cuando la gente usaba pijamas y vivía la vida lenta

Vivió un niño pequeño que fue engañado

Por otro muchachito y esto es lo que dijo:

«Tú y yo esta noche vamos a ganar algo de dinero

Robando a los viejos y corriendo.»

Hicieron el trabajo, el dinero llegó con facilidad.

Pero uno no podía parar, es como si tuviera una enfermedad

A otro le robó y a otro una hermana y un hermano

Intenté robar a un hombre que estaba de servicio encubierto

El policía lo agarró del brazo, comenzó a actuar errático

Él dijo "Mira chico, no hay necesidad de estática"

Le dio un puñetazo en el vientre y le dio una bofetada

Pero no sabía que el niño estaba atado

El niño sacó el arma, dijo "¿Por qué me golpeaste?"

El arma estaba colgada justo para el riñón del policía.

El policía se asustó, el niño, comienza a darse cuenta

«Haré años si aprieto este gatillo»

Así que se apresuró y corrió alrededor de la cuadra

Se lo transmite por radio a otra mujer policía

Corrió junto a un árbol, allí vio a la hermana

Un tiro en la cabeza, él le devolvió el tiro pero la falló

Y debido a las expectativas

Decidió que se dirigiría a las estaciones de la carretera

Ella venía y él giró a la izquierda

Estaba corriendo a toda velocidad hasta que se quedó sin aliento

Derribó a un anciano y juró que lo mató

Luego hizo su mudanza a un edificio abandonado.

Subió corriendo las escaleras hasta el último piso

¿Y adivina a quién vio?

Dave, el drogadicto disparando droga

Que no conocen el significado de agua ni jabón

Dijo «¡Apúrate, apúrate y corre!»

El drogadicto trajo una escopeta de azotes

Salió pero había policías por todas partes.

Se metió en un coche, un Nova robado

Corrió hasta la cuadra haciendo 83

Se estrelló contra un árbol cerca de una universidad

Escapó con vida aunque el auto estaba maltratado.

Rat-a-tat-tatted y todos los policías dispersos

Se quedó sin balas pero aún tenía estática

Agarró a una mujer embarazada, sacó la automática

Apuntó a su cabeza y dijo

«Los policías retroceden o la miel aquí está muerta»

En lo profundo de su corazón sabía que estaba equivocado

Dejó ir a la señora y se echó a correr Sonaron las sirenas, parecía asombrado

En poco tiempo, el niño estaba rodeado

Dejó caer el arma, así se fue la gloria

Y esta es la forma en que tengo que terminar mi historia

Solo tenía diecisiete años, en el sueño de un loco

Los policías le dispararon al niño, todavía lo escucho gritar

Esto no es divertido, así que no te atrevas a reír

Solo otra historia sobre el camino equivocado

Recto y estrecho mientras tu alma obtiene efectivo
