I was tryna be myself but being me was such a problem

I just wanted to be Thomas, but Thomas was at the bottom of a hole he dug

He locked it and swallowed the key, he caught up, forgot all his dreams

Robbed outta calm and became embalmed in a toxic routine

Beer was the escape but I got stuck escaping

Whiskey was the blanket in the coldest basement

Way before the fame, I was wasted

Freezing, doing anything I could to keep the flame lit

And I can’t make you stay but sometimes going ain’t a choice

I had great parents, tight friends, strong walls, nice threads

Good school, good looking, good grades, time spent

Being normal only lasted for a while

One bad choice sparked a downward spiral

I’ve spent half my life tryna climb outta that hole

No es el licor al que soy adicto, se siente duro

Cuando te intimidan la mitad de tu vida, te sientes débil como si no fueras suficiente

Luego te tomas un par de tragos y te emocionas

Y finalmente ten el coraje de defenderte y dar un puñetazo

Y esa adrenalina va directo a tu cerebro y sangre

Adicto a la confianza, es prácticamente la droga más grande

Persiguiendo dragones todas las noches en todos los clubes más recientes

Lo que solía ser tu cosa favorita de alguna manera se convirtió en una muleta peligrosa

Era lo que era

Y esa es la cosa, le puede pasar a cualquiera de nosotros

Tuve excelentes padres, amigos cercanos, paredes fuertes, buenos hilos.

Buena escuela, bien parecido, buenas notas, tiempo dedicado

Ser normal solo duró un tiempo

Una mala elección provocó una espiral descendente

He pasado la mitad de mi vida tratando de salir de ese agujero
