The Mountains - The Mountains

We’re gonna be the two first persons alive to ever call this our home

(I see the clouds gather up in random shapes I don’t know)

We’re gonna be the last ones standing when everyone’s departed and gone

(I watch the sun that slowly rises when it’s ready to show)

We’re gonna be the persons in the world to climb this mountain alone

(I will be still, I will be quiet and no word will be heard)

We’re gonna be right up there where their voices can’t reach us no more

(And when it happens if it happens, I will turn to the words and to the view)

I’ll name this mountain after you

I will climb every mountain and I’ll make them all shake

I will dive through the valleys and the bottomless lake

I’m gonna write in first person though I’m not sure that it really makes sense

I’ve seen myself disappearing for ages by reversing the lens

We’re gonna be the first two persons alive to climb this mountain again

We’re gonna stand real close and when everything comes to an end

I’ll name this mountain after you

I will dive through the valleys and the bottomless lake

I see the clouds from inside out and sometimes upside down

And when I race to the valleys, when I run for your life

I sometimes make up my mind

I sometimes make up your parts

And when it happens I just feel guilty and sad

And there’s a feeling that everything’s going to end, and if it does I hope it

will be pretty

That the fires and the storms make wonders of the cities

That the waves bury every creation, everything that we’ve built

And when they do…

Seremos las dos primeras personas vivas en llamar a esto nuestro hogar.

(Veo que las nubes se acumulan en formas aleatorias que no sé)

Seremos los últimos en pie cuando todos se hayan ido y se hayan ido

(Veo el sol que sale lentamente cuando está listo para mostrarse)

Vamos a ser las personas en el mundo para escalar esta montaña solos

(Estaré quieto, estaré callado y no se escuchará ninguna palabra)

Estaremos allí arriba donde sus voces ya no puedan alcanzarnos.

(Y cuando pase si pasa, me vuelvo a las palabras y a la vista)

Subiré todas las montañas y las haré temblar

Bucearé por los valles y el lago sin fondo

Voy a escribir en primera persona, aunque no estoy seguro de que realmente tenga sentido

Me he visto desaparecer durante años al invertir la lente

Seremos las dos primeras personas vivas en escalar esta montaña de nuevo.

Vamos a estar muy cerca y cuando todo llegue a su fin

Bucearé por los valles y el lago sin fondo

Veo las nubes de adentro hacia afuera y a veces al revés

Y cuando corro a los valles, cuando corro por tu vida

A veces me decido

A veces invento tus partes

Y cuando sucede me siento culpable y triste

Y hay un sentimiento de que todo va a terminar, y si es así, espero que

será bonito

Que los fuegos y las tormentas hacen maravillas de las ciudades

Que las olas entierren cada creación, todo lo que hemos construido

Y cuando lo hacen...
