Christmas at the Zoo - The Flaming Lips, Peter Mokran

There wasn’t any snow on Christmas eve

And I knew what I should do

I thought I’d free the animals all locked up at the zoo

I opened up the fence where the peacocks were

The llamas were unleashed

The snakes and seals could all get out

But they refused to leave

All of the animals agreed

They’re not happy at the zoo

But they preferred to save themselves

They seemed to think they could

The elephants, orangutans

All the birds and kangaroos all said

«Thanks but no thanks man»

To be concerned is good

It started to snow on Christmas Eve

In the middle of the night

Walking through the state park zoo

And everything is white

No hubo nieve en la víspera de Navidad.

Y supe lo que debía hacer

Pensé en liberar a los animales encerrados en el zoológico

Abrí la cerca donde estaban los pavos reales

se soltaron las llamas

Las serpientes y las focas podrían salir.

Pero se negaron a irse

Todos los animales estuvieron de acuerdo.

No son felices en el zoológico.

Pero prefirieron salvarse

Parecían pensar que podían

Los elefantes, orangutanes

Todos los pájaros y canguros dijeron

«Gracias pero no gracias hombre»

Estar preocupado es bueno

Empezó a nevar en Nochebuena

En medio de la noche

Paseando por el zoológico del parque estatal

Y todo es blanco
