My bathroom remains the only place I’m ever naked

Smashing soap into my hands each morning

The shower throat all belching there behind me, bloated with my shedded skin.

Good riddance

One son restroom away, my blinds clench up on the California sun

Setting fire to the dust and possibly day pull on my apartment and I

A genuine fear as to where all this sleeping leads has got you thinking thin

about what you would and wouldn’t do to survive

You would not dig for a fresh wet wishbone in a still kicking chicken chest

You would not dissolve small slices of unraveled arm under your tongue

You’d maybe kill the power to your hand, but that’s about it

Really, you know

The razor for your face cannot cut kids from your male animal abdomen

You were not born the moment your stomach was finished

Your one wing plucked eyes half filled

And wild yolk like so sliced into a since

So I ask you

Have you ever really had a hand fall off?

Or found your mailman in your home

Eating one of your new poems, holding a knife to your bills

Half swallow the scream, you can’t cut

And still keep all the juice in that half opened up arm

By tightening the ropes of your digital watch

You will grow no ghost to leave this angst to

And this no ghost will wear no locket for the safe keeping of your fear

To dangle like a heart

So it may always and forever hear the gulping throats

Of all your slopping drops of blood

Like this was something beautiful

When compared to your red skeleton

Like you say

You’ve asked nicely for your arm back

Except…

And everytime the sun leaves you alone on a far curve of the planet

You think you can feel the whole slung six pounds of cartoon heart

And all its iron tugging drugs towards it

Mi baño sigue siendo el único lugar donde estoy desnudo

La garganta de la ducha eructaba detrás de mí, hinchada con mi piel muda.

Buen viaje

A un baño de mi hijo de distancia, mis persianas se aprietan contra el sol de California

Prendiendo fuego al polvo y posiblemente tirando el día en mi apartamento y yo

Un miedo genuino en cuanto a dónde lleva todo este sueño te ha hecho pensar delgado

sobre lo que harías y lo que no harías para sobrevivir

No cavarías en busca de un hueso de la suerte fresco y húmedo en un cofre de pollo que todavía patea

No disolverías pequeñas rebanadas de brazo desenredado debajo de tu lengua

Tal vez matarías el poder de tu mano, pero eso es todo.

De verdad, ya sabes

La navaja de tu cara no puede cortar niños de tu abdomen de animal macho

No naciste en el momento en que tu estómago terminó

Tus ojos arrancados de un ala medio llenos

Y yema salvaje como cortada en un dado

Entonces te pregunto

¿Alguna vez se te ha caído una mano?

O encontró a su cartero en su casa

Comiendo uno de tus nuevos poemas, sosteniendo un cuchillo en tus billetes

Medio traga el grito, no puedes cortar

Y aún mantengo todo el jugo en ese brazo medio abierto

Tensando las cuerdas de tu reloj digital

No crecerás ningún fantasma para dejar esta angustia

Y este ningún fantasma no usará un relicario para mantener a salvo tu miedo

Para colgar como un corazón

Para que siempre y para siempre escuche las gargantas tragando

De todas tus gotas de sangre derramadas

Como si esto fuera algo hermoso

En comparación con tu esqueleto rojo

Como tú dices

Has pedido amablemente que te devuelva el brazo.

Excepto…

Y cada vez que el sol te deja solo en una lejana curva del planeta

Crees que puedes sentir los seis kilos de corazón de dibujos animados

Y todas sus drogas tirando de hierro hacia él
