Icarus - Sound of Rum

Soaring the sky’s that had always been beyond his reach

He felt like a champion his feet kicked the clouds

Arms bound in the feathers of his father’s labour

Which a little while later would be ashes and vapour

Cumbersome limbs furnished with powerful things

He heard the wind speak every time he heard his wings beat

His Father flew before him and so his course was set

He’s like don’t fly by the waves or your wings will get wet

And don’t fly so high that the sun melts the wax

Just stay on my path son and follow my tracks

But Icarus enamoured by the feeling of flight

He just had to fly higher and get closer to that light

The sun was hot against him as he carried on ascending

He felt strength in him increasing like the heat that was so tempting

Beneath was the world he left behind in search of better things

To achieve his freedom he sacrificed everything

But in the small moment before he fell in to the sea

Volando el cielo que siempre había estado fuera de su alcance

Se sintió como un campeón sus pies patearon las nubes

Brazos atados en las plumas del trabajo de su padre

que poco tiempo después serían cenizas y vapor

Extremidades engorrosas provistas de cosas poderosas

Oía hablar al viento cada vez que escuchaba batir sus alas

Su Padre voló delante de él y así se fijó su rumbo.

Es como no vueles por las olas o se te mojarán las alas

Y no vueles tan alto que el sol derrita la cera

Solo quédate en mi camino hijo y sigue mis huellas

Pero Ícaro enamorado del sentimiento del vuelo

Solo tenía que volar más alto y acercarse a esa luz.

El sol ardía contra él mientras continuaba ascendiendo

Sintió que la fuerza en él aumentaba como el calor que era tan tentador

Debajo estaba el mundo que dejó atrás en busca de cosas mejores

Para lograr su libertad sacrificó todo
