And what the population want now

is not expedient or wise

A political solution

proves quite difficult to see

as the rebel forces gather

When we searched but couldn’t find

any echo of the Bowie tune

or what the Russians left behind.

The teutonic plates had shifted

but it didnt seem to cross your mind.

I always liked your Weltanschauung

better than I do mine.

And it was simpler when there was a wall

Back in Berlington-on-Spree

Alles sein in ordnung honey

Under the Ammonia Tree

When your own head bores you

with its bloody awful song

it wasn’t pretty wasn’t clever

and didn’t last for very long:

it felt like looking in the mirror

with all the strip lights on.

(might be a Stendhalian glory

if you can only wait that long).
