We all go down to the river

Into the waters we must climb

There we get what we are given

Then we get drunk from its wine

We all must live in the river

We all must swim in its banks

We do what we can amongst the crocodiles

And try to keep away from the snakes

We all go down to the river

Bathe in the mud and the mire

We’re all born to live in the river

The water that flows there is the flood of our desire

Flow, that’s how it goes

Winding through our lives, through the highs and the lows

Flows, nobody knows

Where its currents will take you, you must swim with its tow

We all must dance in the river

Move with the water as it glides

We shake to its ebb and we groove to its flow

The music it creates makes us feel more alive

We all go down with the river

We all move around with its tide

Some like it deep and some like it shallow

And everybody has their favorite sides

When we reach the end of the river

It’s the ocean, where we shall be Then we say goodbye to the river

As we drift out into the deep

Down from the mountains, born from the sky, raining down from way up high

Flows through the valleys with little design into our lives

So,

Take me down to the river

Let the current take me away

The cold waters might make me shiver

But the watery embrace will warm my decay

En las aguas debemos subir

Ahí conseguimos lo que nos dan

Entonces nos embriagamos de su vino

Todos debemos vivir en el río

Todos debemos nadar en sus orillas

Hacemos lo que podemos entre los cocodrilos

Y trata de mantenerte alejado de las serpientes.

El agua que fluye allí es el torrente de nuestro deseo.

Es el océano, donde estaremos Entonces nos despedimos del río
