The Young Man - Rebel Son

Life is a very precious thing you only get one shot

I once knew a fine young man who loved his life a lot

But for some sudden reason no one else will ever know

He gave up his family and hopes and dreams, turned loose and let them go

I wish I could have been there with him to hold his hand

I wish I could have talked to him to help him understand

That he had everything to live for these intentions were all wrong

But in the flicker of an instant a young man’s life was gone

I wish somehow I knew exactly what he felt inside

I wish I knew just what went through his mind that summer night

I know at least a thousand times I’ve asked the good Lord why

But its best to just let him rest although it’s hard to say goodbye

He’s on his way to see Jesus, he’s left us and moved on

Now all we have are memories and a name tag etched in stone

He left his world behind at a time he felt he was all alone

Now he’s comin to see Jesus, please make him feel at home

La vida es algo muy preciado, solo tienes una oportunidad

Una vez conocí a un buen joven que amaba mucho su vida

Pero por alguna razón repentina nadie más lo sabrá

Renunció a su familia, esperanzas y sueños, se soltó y los dejó ir.

Desearía haber estado allí con él para sostener su mano.

Ojalá hubiera podido hablar con él para ayudarlo a entender

Que tenía todo para vivir por estas intenciones estaban todas mal

Pero en el parpadeo de un instante la vida de un joven se había ido

Desearía de alguna manera saber exactamente lo que sentía por dentro

Ojalá supiera lo que pasó por su mente esa noche de verano

Sé que al menos mil veces le he preguntado al buen Dios por qué

Pero es mejor dejarlo descansar, aunque es difícil decir adiós.

Va de camino a ver a Jesús, nos dejó y siguió adelante.

Ahora todo lo que tenemos son recuerdos y una etiqueta con el nombre grabada en piedra

Dejó su mundo atrás en un momento en que sintió que estaba solo
