I know the gut-wrenched pain of mental bloodshed

My fingernails chipped and filled with dirt from the farm

The lights red to gold to blue upon me

Smoke brushes along the contours of my form

Blinded to the faces in the balcony

Flashing one scene then the next —

Walking delicately through the mines

Trimmed, and perfect and haven’t eaten in three days

I know what it is to lose my heart

Look to the side, see the conspirators behind the curtain

Down the alleyways

Tumbling through forests

Wandering between all realms

I fought well and bitter and to the death

Like a Trojan soldier on a vase

My Mythology smashed and littered under their feet

I fall like leaves from separate similar struggles
