1Lo, the central thought of God

Is that He be one with man;

He to man is everything

That He might fulfill His plan.

2Earthen vessel man was made-

Body, soul, and spirit too,

God as life that he may take

And with Him have oneness true.

3By the flow of life divine,

Man becomes a precious stone

Fit for building God’s abode,

That His glory might be known.

4'Tis the city God hath built,

'Tis the dwelling God requires,

'Tis the new Jerusalem

Which fulfills His heart’s desires.

5'Tis the building of the saints,

'Tis the blend of God and man,

Purposed by the Father’s will

Long before the world began.

6In its center, as its pow’r,

Is the throne of Christ and God,

Whence doth flow the stream of life

As the Spirit’s living flood.

7Christ, the tree of life, is there

In the flowing of the stream,

Yielding fruit of life divine

As the food of life supreme.

8God in Christ, the glorious light,

Thru the city brightly shines,

Scattering all the deathly night

With its light of life divine.

9God in man and man in God

Mutual dwelling thus possess;

God the content is to man,

And the man doth God express.

es que Él sea uno con el hombre;

El para el hombre es todo

Para que Él pudiera cumplir Su plan.

2Vaso de barro fue hecho el hombre-

Cuerpo, alma y espíritu también,

Dios como vida para que pueda tomar

Y con Él ten la unidad verdadera.

3Por el manantial de la vida divina,

El hombre se convierte en piedra preciosa

Apto para edificar la morada de Dios,

Para que Su gloria sea conocida.

4'Esta es la ciudad que Dios ha edificado,

Es la morada que Dios requiere,

Es la nueva Jerusalén

Que cumple los deseos de Su corazón.

5'Es el edificio de los santos,

Es la mezcla de Dios y el hombre,

Propuesto por la voluntad del Padre

Mucho antes de que el mundo comenzara.

6En su centro, como su poder,

es el trono de Cristo y de Dios,

¿De dónde fluye la corriente de la vida

Como el diluvio vivo del Espíritu.

7Cristo, el árbol de la vida, está allí

En el fluir de la corriente,

Dando frutos de vida divina

Como el alimento de la vida suprema.

8Dios en Cristo, la luz gloriosa,

A través de la ciudad brilla intensamente,

Esparciendo toda la noche mortal

Con su luz de vida divina.

9Dios en el hombre y el hombre en Dios

La vivienda mutua así la poseen;

Dios el contenido es para el hombre,

Y el hombre expresa Dios.
