A young scholar with super knowledge

Never thought I’d see the day that I would have to drop out of college

I guess I prolly' should of been more dedicated to getting educated

Do more papers so I could go get 'em graded

I mean, for my work ethic I had no respect

Cause I only made it through a deep connect, it’s who ya know

But you would think I would take advantage cause these chances vanish

Should of been over-zealous cause when it comes to learning man you gotta stay

But for some reason new things seemed rancid

And life won’t wait man that’s word to rancid

Feeling like a prisoner in the school and whether I make it out or not I gotta

pay a ransom

Life’s a woman on ice I tried to Tessa Virtue and ended up dancing

And now my consciousness wasn’t fully aware of the consequence of not

completing this obstacle

That I made more complicated than it needed to be

So when it was time for the challenge

It was too complex for me to conquer it

And if I don’t change

Damn, I should of, put in my best work

School wasn’t with my lack of effort

Calls to the office saying to go to class more often cause

Financial aid was gunna drop what they had offered

But I didn’t follow orders

Guess my mind was distorted

I have no one else to blame

Knowing I don’t want them there

Just a D student a genius with no records to prove it

I watched my sister get her bachelor’s

And I’m gon' watch her get her master’s too

To go back to school

They said the time has been passed to you

Few years ago, my school advisor

Met my mother and tried to advise her

Not to pay too much for college

She was right about

But in my mind I was making it

And everyone says I need a fallback

Matter fact, I ain’t gon' make the 'ifs' a hassle

Nunca pensé que vería el día en que tendría que abandonar la universidad

Y ahora mi conciencia no era del todo consciente de la consecuencia de no

completando este obstáculo

Que hice más complicado de lo que tenía que ser

Así que cuando llegó el momento del desafío

Era demasiado complejo para mí conquistarlo

Maldita sea, debería, poner mi mejor trabajo

La escuela no fue con mi falta de esfuerzo

Las llamadas a la oficina para decir que vayan a clase con más frecuencia causan

Vi a mi hermana obtener su licenciatura

Y voy a verla obtener su maestría también

Para volver a la escuela

Porque en su celebración

Dijeron que el tiempo se te ha pasado

Intento ignorar la conversación

Porque me siento inseguro

Sabiendo muy bien que si vuelvo me va a ir mal

Porque cuando se trata de la escuela y la música

¿Cuál me gusta más?

Y no voy a mentir al respecto

Hace unos años, mi asesor escolar

Conocí a mi madre y traté de aconsejarla

No pagar demasiado por la universidad

Porque ella estaba dudando

ella tenia razon

Pero en mi mente lo estaba haciendo

Y todos dicen que necesito un respaldo

Pero, ¿qué sucede si mi retroceso comienza a retroceder
