The Feathered Tiger - Kaleidoscope

Long time ago I had a dream all about a magic zoo

And the animals that lived there were in love like me and you

In the dream I wandered slowly in-between each magic cage

And the animals looked happy as they played their silly games

As the dream unwrapped around me, I could see their colours clear

As the minutes split to seconds, I found you were standing near

So we wandered through the happy of the little magic zoo

And the animals were quiet as they stared at me and you

As the sun rose we bought ice cream but we couldn’t eat it all

So we gave it to the animals to keep them very cool

Their happy laughter filled our ears and it made us happy too

The animals were beautiful in their yellows, reds and blues

But in shadows of their victory, we did find a silent cage

And the animal that lived there didn’t seem to want to play

We looked between the rusty bars through the darkness of the cage

And suddenly we saw the sad as the feathered tiger lay

We found a key, unlocked the bars of the feathered tiger’s cell

And with words of kindness begged him his story to us would tell

But he was so very scared, he said we would laugh at him

So we led him to the sunshine and played games but let him win

We all played amongst the colours in the little magic zoo

And soon he was much happier and we both loved him too

But the evening drew in swiftly and the feathered tiger cried

He was sad because we had to leave and the sun slipped from the sky

But we told him to act bravely and to never feel unclean

He was the only feathered tiger that we both had ever seen

We told him, «Only be yourself, you don’t really want to change

To be yourself is beautiful, to be someone else is strange»

The feathered tiger disappeared and so did my magic zoo

And as I opened up my eyes, there was nothing else but you

Hace mucho tiempo tuve un sueño sobre un zoológico mágico

Y los animales que allí vivían estaban enamorados como tú y yo

En el sueño vagué lentamente entre cada jaula mágica

Y los animales se veían felices mientras jugaban sus juegos tontos

A medida que el sueño se desenvolvía a mi alrededor, pude ver sus colores claros

A medida que los minutos se dividían en segundos, descubrí que estabas parado cerca

Así que deambulamos por la felicidad del pequeño zoológico mágico

Y los animales estaban en silencio mientras nos miraban a mí y a ti.

Cuando salió el sol compramos helado pero no pudimos comerlo todo

Así que se lo dimos a los animales para que se mantuvieran muy frescos.

Su risa feliz llenó nuestros oídos y nos hizo felices también.

Los animales eran hermosos en sus amarillos, rojos y azules.

Pero en las sombras de su victoria, encontramos una jaula silenciosa

Y el animal que vivía allí no parecía querer jugar

Miramos entre los barrotes oxidados a través de la oscuridad de la jaula.

Y de repente vimos lo triste como el tigre emplumado yacía

Encontramos una llave, abrimos los barrotes de la celda del tigre emplumado

Y con palabras de bondad le rogué que nos contara su historia.

Pero estaba tan asustado que dijo que nos reiríamos de él.

Así que lo llevamos a la luz del sol y jugamos, pero lo dejamos ganar

Todos jugamos entre los colores en el pequeño zoológico mágico

Y pronto fue mucho más feliz y los dos también lo amamos.

Pero la noche llegó rápidamente y el tigre emplumado lloró

Estaba triste porque teníamos que irnos y el sol se deslizó del cielo

Pero le dijimos que actuara con valentía y que nunca se sintiera sucio.

Era el único tigre emplumado que ambos habíamos visto.

Le dijimos: «Solo sé tú mismo, en realidad no quieres cambiar

Ser uno mismo es hermoso, ser otra persona es extraño»

El tigre emplumado desapareció y también mi zoológico mágico

Y cuando abrí mis ojos, no había nada más que tú
