Time, won’t wait for you

It comes and goes, always running, always ticking, away

It gets right in your head, and fills you up with dread

And regret, would you give a friend like that, the time of day?

Lights, camera, action, your spotlight keeps you firm in place

Signs, telling you, directions, but they don’t tell you anything

You, tell yourself, whatever you want to, to get yourself to wherever you’re

going

Lights, telling you, what you should want, what you should eat, should need

Count the papercuts on your fingers, after a day of counting time

Still, on the chase, for that brand new special…

Something, that you, «need», that for some reason is worth your while

We, move, taxis, and everything, that we’re doing we’re doing for

Him, her, something, or someone, or for ourselves, to find what we’ve been

Como los pájaros y el clima, arriba en el cielo

Como la gente y la fortuna, como una chica y un chico
