Love This Time - Field Study

He ran away up North

And got himself a job baking bread til dawn.

He’d walk home in the riot of the colours.

And though he missed her fearsome

In these mornings he was calm, just following the river home.

The town would wake up and he’d sleep some.

And there appeared the Borealis lights.

And that where he will put his heart tonight

And that’s all he could hope for was love this time

That spring the ice cracked.

It made such a thundering racket.

It also marked the passing of the winter’s hefty fine.

The sound it made went oh

It was December snow and forty below and the sheer surviving it.

This was where he was steered by some fix put in his choices.

The gifts he got, the subtle and not, would in time grow in strength in him.

Yesterday was just noise between girls and the boys

And something else in his place was him.

And this is how it was turning out.

Se escapó hacia el norte

Y se consiguió un trabajo horneando pan hasta el amanecer.

Caminaba a casa en el tumulto de los colores.

Y aunque extrañaba su temible

En estas mañanas estaba tranquilo, solo siguiendo el río a casa.

El pueblo se despertaría y él dormiría un poco.

Y allí aparecieron las luces Borealis.

Y que donde pondrá su corazón esta noche

Y eso es todo lo que podía esperar era amor esta vez

Esa primavera el hielo se resquebrajó.

Hizo un alboroto tan atronador.

También marcó el paso de la fuerte multa del invierno.

El sonido que hizo fue oh

Era nieve de diciembre y cuarenta bajo cero y la pura supervivencia.

Aquí fue donde fue dirigido por algún arreglo puesto en sus elecciones.

Los dones que recibió, los sutiles y los no, con el tiempo crecerían en fuerza en él.

Ayer solo hubo ruido entre las chicas y los chicos

Y algo más en su lugar era él.

Y así fue como quedó.
