Last night when I come home

I was tired as a man could be

There was a mule in my stable

Where my mule was suppose to be

I said wake up, baby

And explain all this stuff to me

Well, the next night when I come home

Wake up, little girl

And explain all this stuff to me

She said;

There ain’t nothing but a blanket that my mother in law sent to me

With two sleeves on in before

Well no, the next night when I come home

I was tired and I wanted to sleep

There was a hat on my dresser

Where my hat was suppose to be

I said;

Wake up, darling

And explain all these stuff to me

Who’s hat’s there on dresser

Where my hat is suppose to be

She said, you must be silly

But daddy you ain’t talking right

That my grandmother sent to me

Anoche cuando llegué a casa

Estaba tan cansado como puede estarlo un hombre

Había una mula en mi establo

Donde se suponía que mi mula debía estar

Dije que despiertes, nena

¿Quién tiene abrigos en mi percha?

Pues no, la noche siguiente cuando llego a casa

estaba cansada y queria dormir
