Half asleep when that song begins

Have to go find out who it is

From the basement of the house party

I crawl up three flights of stairs

Like half a zombie

People dancing on my hand I demand

Tell me the name of that ridiculously awesome band

But no one hears me or gives a shit

About a stupid boy at the time unfit to stand on his two legs

And ask politely instead he begs

«Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me!»

A wasted skater, told me their name later

Before this, to music I was a hater

I had to go and I had to follow through

I bought their tapes and soon after I got their tattoo

But, by then their voice was dead living on in my headphones

With so much left unsaid

I wish I could have thanked them personally

They did so much for me

Tengo que ir a averiguar quién es.

Desde el sótano de la fiesta en casa

Me arrastré hasta tres tramos de escaleras

Como medio zombi

Gente bailando en mi mano exijo

Dime el nombre de esa banda ridículamente increíble

Pero nadie me escucha o le importa una mierda

Sobre un niño estúpido en ese momento incapaz de pararse sobre sus dos piernas

Y pregunta cortésmente, en lugar de eso, suplica.

«¡Dime, dime, dime, dime!»

Un patinador perdido, me dijo su nombre más tarde

Antes de esto, a la música yo era un hater

Tuve que irme y tuve que seguir adelante

Compré sus cintas y poco después me hice su tatuaje

Pero, para entonces, su voz estaba muerta en mis auriculares.
