My feet deep in a sandy way

It was on a beach I met P. J

Thought he died on a winter’s day

Remember?

He sat between the salty dunes

And stared through me his eyes like moons

I didn’t know what I should say

To heaven

He grabbed me by the shoulder skin

And asked, «Is this the end?

Or the beginning?»

I shouted at the cloud array

«Forever»

Then he hugged me like he would

Held my soul right where he stood

Said he sailed by the golden masts

Fought the tide and had to rest

Couldn’t say how long he stayed

Until he walked into the waves

Saying, «Light a candle wind can shake

Let it take you to a place

Where nothing’s all the time»

I stared beyond the castle’s sand

And tears fell on the barbican

And ran off with my good friend’s plans

To never

Fue en una playa donde conocí a P. J.

Pensé que murió en un día de invierno

¿Recordar?

Se sentó entre las dunas saladas

Y miró a través de mí sus ojos como lunas

no sabia que debia decir

Al cielo

Me agarró por la piel del hombro

Y preguntó: «¿Es este el final?

¿O el principio?»

Le grité a la matriz de nubes

"Para siempre"

Luego me abrazó como si lo hiciera.

Sostuvo mi alma justo donde estaba

Dijo que navegó por los mástiles dorados

Luchó contra la marea y tuvo que descansar

No podría decir cuánto tiempo se quedó

Hasta que caminó hacia las olas

Diciendo: «Enciende una vela que el viento pueda sacudir

Deja que te lleve a un lugar

Donde nada es todo el tiempo»

miré más allá de la arena del castillo

Y las lágrimas cayeron sobre la barbacana

Y huí con los planes de mi buen amigo

Para nunca
