All Life Ends - At the Gates

My life fades, my visions dim

All that remains are memories

I remember a time of chaos

A time of war

As men began to feed on man

Only the scavengers survived

Gone now

Gone now, swept away

For reasons long forgotten

Touched of a blase

Which engulfed them all

A firestorm of fear

The answer is written in their bones

«All life ends»

I remember an old man

Griping my wrist, he was dying

«Imagine», he said

«Looking into the eyes of a nova

The bursting flames

The roar of it’s energy

Frintly echoing down the corridors of time»

Whispering:

«All life ends»

«Death», he said

«Is like a bolt of lightning

Light cast upon every secret

Just for a moment, till the last spark of life fades

And all is dark…»

Then he breathed out his last breath into my ear

His gaze already way out among the stars…

Among the ruins of the past

I shelter from the storm

My mind is numb from the loneliness

And the rain that never stops

This wasteland, once a beautiful place

Where trees and flowers grew

Where deer, and squirells had their home

Now rotting are their bones

Where raging waters grind the earth

I go to end my days

The sea that witnessed mankinds birth

Shall watch us die again

Black and deep

Empty of life

As in the heaven so below

The sun has now forever set

And bids our time to go

Go!

I am tired

And I fear not

The cold that now descends

As light grows dim, I bid farewell

All life ends

I am leaving now, my body stiff

Just watching for a while

That rigid shell, so small and weak

A corpse on a broken cliff

The stars are calling me now

With distant, speechless voices

And caught by a wind I drift away

And nothing calls me to stay

I am ridint the wind that has no name

The fire that burns without a flame

Caught by the spell on which all depends

Recuerdo un tiempo de caos

Un tiempo de guerra

A medida que los hombres comenzaron a alimentarse del hombre

Solo sobrevivieron los carroñeros.

Se ha ido ahora

Por razones olvidadas

Tocado de un hastío

Que los envolvió a todos

Una tormenta de miedo

recuerdo a un anciano

Agarrando mi muñeca, se estaba muriendo

«Imagínese», dijo

«Mirando a los ojos de una nova

Las llamas que estallan

El rugido de su energía

Frintly resonando por los pasillos del tiempo»

Susurro:

«Toda vida termina»

«Muerte», dijo

«Es como un rayo

Luz proyectada sobre cada secreto

Solo por un momento, hasta que la última chispa de vida se desvanezca

Y todo está oscuro...»

Luego exhaló su último aliento en mi oído

Su mirada ya se aleja entre las estrellas...

Entre las ruinas del pasado

me refugio de la tormenta

Mi mente está entumecida por la soledad

Y la lluvia que nunca para

Este páramo, una vez un hermoso lugar

Donde crecían los árboles y las flores

Donde los ciervos y las ardillas tenían su hogar

Ahora se pudren sus huesos

Donde las aguas embravecidas muelen la tierra

voy a terminar mis dias

El mar que vio nacer a la humanidad

Nos verá morir de nuevo

negro y profundo

Vacío de vida

Como en el cielo así abajo

El sol ahora se ha puesto para siempre

Y ofrece nuestro tiempo para ir

¡Vamos!

Estoy cansado

Y no temo

El frío que ahora desciende

A medida que la luz se oscurece, me despido

Toda la vida termina

Me voy ahora, mi cuerpo rígido

Solo mirando por un tiempo

Ese caparazón rígido, tan pequeño y débil

Un cadáver en un acantilado roto

Las estrellas me están llamando ahora

Con voces lejanas y sin palabras

Y atrapado por un viento me dejo llevar

Y nada me llama a quedarme

Estoy montando el viento que no tiene nombre

El fuego que arde sin llama

Atrapado por el hechizo del que todo depende
