Song of the Pearl - Arbouretum

nights were spent waiting for days

back in the brown times

and there in the rising midwinter’s sun

was abraham’s ram caught in the thicket

and what appeared

was told in turbulence on the water

when she was near

there could be no home apart from this

but now its gone, long gone-

when I look out across a clearing

it is obscured

out on an ocean dark and vast

two fishes tied, at alpha are bound

waving a pole and waking the dead

the goatherder turned the shining stars

and so turned she,

and there awoke a staring eye

but not a mouth-

I’d become as passerby

O in a world long gone

she waits, she waits for me

horizons sing

I saw her last

in a hazy, dark, and crowded room

stramlined and fast

shameless with everyone

and when the last song’s playing

here she comes, carring a pitcher

to fill the flood

las noches se pasaron esperando días

de vuelta en los tiempos marrones

y allí, en el sol naciente del solsticio de invierno

fue el carnero de abraham atrapado en la maleza

y lo que apareció

se dijo en la turbulencia en el agua

cuando ella estaba cerca

no podría haber un hogar aparte de este

pero ahora se ha ido, se ha ido hace mucho tiempo-

cuando miro a través de un claro

esta oscurecido

en un océano oscuro y vasto

dos peces atados, en alfa están atados

agitando un poste y despertando a los muertos

el cabrero volvió las estrellas brillantes

y así se volvió ella,

y allí despertó un ojo que miraba fijamente

pero no una boca-

Me convertiría en un transeúnte

O en un mundo desaparecido hace mucho tiempo

ella espera, ella me espera

los horizontes cantan

la vi por última vez

en una habitación nebulosa, oscura y llena de gente

estrangulada y rápida

descarado con todos

y cuando suena la última canción

aquí viene, trayendo un cántaro

para llenar la inundación
