Village on the Sand - Blackmore's Night

I saw three ships a-sailing in from across the sea

Strangers ne’er were welcome but for curiosity

But come they did and when they did ready they did stand

And things would never be the same in our Village on the Sand…

When the ships pulled in to dock the villagers did hide

When trouble came it usually was brought upon the tide

When the pirates disembarked they were making plans

And from then on things were not the same in our Village on the Sand…

The smugglers came into our town and many sought to run

I stood my ground bravely and came face to face with one

Time and travel on the seas weathered face and hand

He was different than the others in my Village on the Sand…

He told me of the years he’d spent on the stormy seas

But then he spoke a poet’s words of philosophy

And when he had to leave again he asked me for my hand

And I knew I’d never see again my Village on the Sand…

Vi tres barcos navegando desde el otro lado del mar

Los extraños nunca fueron bienvenidos excepto por curiosidad

Pero vienen, lo hicieron y cuando lo hicieron, se pararon

Y las cosas nunca volverían a ser las mismas en nuestro Village on the Sand...

Cuando los barcos se detuvieron para atracar, los aldeanos se escondieron

Cuando llegaban los problemas, por lo general los traía la marea

Cuando los piratas desembarcaron estaban haciendo planes

Y a partir de entonces las cosas no fueron las mismas en nuestro Village on the Sand…

Los contrabandistas entraron en nuestra ciudad y muchos trataron de correr

Me mantuve firme con valentía y me encontré cara a cara con uno

El tiempo y el viaje en los mares resistieron la cara y la mano

Era diferente a los demás en mi Village on the Sand...

Me habló de los años que había pasado en los mares tormentosos

Pero luego pronunció las palabras filosóficas de un poeta.

Y cuando tenia que irse otra vez me pidio la mano

Y supe que nunca volvería a ver mi Village on the Sand...
