In the summertime we met to see a threat

That came to harm something we both loved

And as the hours past we talked until at last

It came the time to part

I was doing well, and I thought she liked my style

I had no business thinking like that

But it lasted quite a while

I got my promises made, but before the timeless father

I showed plastic flowers to Mother Nature’s daughter

She held a vase, her misty gaze brought them to life

I was amazed, she turned at me with a tear in her eye

We went to give our thanks along the river banks

And watched the water flow as it rolled along

She scooped some river sand and held it in her hand

And sang a little song

We saw the water lines left there from ancient times

I watch the sand falling through her fingers

On the shore so dry

I was doing well, I thought she liked my style

I had no business feeling like that

En el verano nos reunimos para ver una amenaza

Que vino a dañar algo que ambos amamos

Y a medida que pasaban las horas hablábamos hasta que por fin

Llegó el momento de partir

Me iba bien y pensé que a ella le gustaba mi estilo.

No tenía por qué pensar así.

Pero duró bastante

Ella sostenía un jarrón, su mirada brumosa los trajo a la vida

Yo estaba asombrado, ella se volvió hacia mí con una lágrima en el ojo

Fuimos a dar gracias a orillas del rio

Y vi el flujo de agua mientras rodaba

Recogió un poco de arena de río y la sostuvo en su mano.

Y cantó una pequeña canción

Vimos las líneas de agua que quedaron allí desde la antigüedad.

Veo la arena caer entre sus dedos

En la orilla tan seca
