It's Really Not as Complicated as You're Making It Out to Be - Being As An Ocean

I do dimly perceive that while everything around me is ever-changing,

ever-dying there is, underlying all that change, a living power that is

changeless, that holds all together, that creates, dissolves, and recreates.

That informing power or spirit is God, and since nothing else that I see merely

through the senses can or will persist, He alone is.

And is this power benevolent or malevolent?

I see it as purely benevolent.

For I can see, that in the midst of death, Life persists, in the midst of

untruth, Truth persists, in the midst of darkness, Light persists.

Hence I gather, that God is Life, Truth, Light, He is Love.

He is the supreme good.

But He is no god who merely satisfies the intellect, if He ever does.

God to be God must rule the heart and transform it.

He must express Himself in every smallest act of His votary.

It is proved not by extraneous evidence, but in the transformed conduct and

character of those who have felt the real presence of God within.

To reject this evidence is to deny oneself.

This realization is preceded by an immovable faith.

He who would, in his own person, test the fact of God’s presence can do so by a

living faith, and since faith itself cannot be proved by extraneous evidence,

the safest course is to believe in… the law of Truth and Love.

Exercise of faith will be the safest where there is a clear determination

summarily to reject all that is contrary to Truth and Love.

I confess that I have no argument to convince through reason, faith transcends

reason.

All that I can advise is not to attempt the impossible.

Percibo vagamente que mientras todo a mi alrededor está en constante cambio,

siempre moribundo hay, subyacente a todo ese cambio, un poder vivo que es

inmutable, que mantiene todo unido, que crea, disuelve y recrea.

Ese poder o espíritu informador es Dios, y puesto que nada más que yo veo simplemente

a través de los sentidos puede o persistirá, solo Él es.

¿Y este poder es benévolo o malévolo?

Lo veo como puramente benévolo.

Porque puedo ver, que en medio de la muerte, la Vida persiste, en medio de

mentira, la Verdad persiste, en medio de la oscuridad, la Luz persiste.

De ahí deduzco que Dios es Vida, Verdad, Luz, Él es Amor.

Él es el bien supremo.

Pero Él no es un dios que simplemente satisface el intelecto, si es que alguna vez lo hace.

Dios para ser Dios debe gobernar el corazón y transformarlo.

Él debe expresarse en cada acto más pequeño de Su devoto.

No se prueba por pruebas extrañas, sino en la conducta transformada y

carácter de aquellos que han sentido la presencia real de Dios en su interior.

Rechazar esta evidencia es negarse a uno mismo.

Esta realización es precedida por una fe inamovible.

El que quisiera, en su propia persona, probar el hecho de la presencia de Dios puede hacerlo por medio de una

fe viva, y dado que la fe en sí misma no puede ser probada por evidencia extraña,

el camino más seguro es creer en... la ley de la Verdad y el Amor.

El ejercicio de la fe será más seguro donde haya una clara determinación

sumariamente para rechazar todo lo que es contrario a la Verdad y al Amor.

Confieso que no tengo ningún argumento para convencer a través de la razón, la fe trasciende

razón.

Todo lo que puedo aconsejar es que no intentes lo imposible.
